Proverbs 1

Good everyone everyone! As I was reading the the famous proverb, I didn't want to focus on the faithful woman part. As we are studying on the topic of righteousness, Proverbs 31:8-9 Open your mouth for the mute, For the rights of all the unfortunate. 9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, And defend the rights of the afflicted and needy. I was remembering how a few chapters earlier, the author talked about not responding to fools(Proverbs 26:4-5). But in this chapter, the author is saying to speak up. When we defend for those who are unfortunate, you are actually manifesting the righteousness of God. When you judge rightly, you are being the Judge. Leviticus 19:15 says: "'Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly." Deuteronomy 1:16 says: "And I charged your judges at that time, "Hear the disputes between your people and judge fairly, whether the case is between two Israelites or between an Israelite and a foreigner residing among you." Sometimes you might have to tell those who you see as your "friends", that they are wrong. A righteous person may not have many so called "friends".

A person who calls themselves a child of God should be willing to stand up for the truth.

1 John 3:10 says

This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God's child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

After reading these verses, I am realizing that undergoing the baptism is qualifying someone as a child of God. But rather, you need to implement God's qualities in you and execute those qualities through you. It is very important that we, who are created in the image and likeness of God, display these qualities are a Christian or as Child of God.

Even if we keep saying that we are a child of God, it is important we know and understand that it is not enough. But rather, Romans 8:16 says, The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. We should be confident that the Spirit will testify that our actions are alike the actions of God's children.

Proverbs 21: 3 says : To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

As a child of God, it is very important that care about the unfortunate and the needy. It should be an act that comes from your heart not as an obligation. It is vital that we love our sisters and brothers to display the love our Father has shown as us. We need to be able to stand in boldness with assurance that we are a child of God. I pray that as each day goes by, we would be refined to his image and likeness and our actions maybe counted as righteousness.

Blessings!
